My Biggest Skincare Mistakes in the Past
This blog will be a relatable one. We all have made many mistakes in the past when it comes to our skincare routines and finding what works best for our own personal needs. It takes some trial and error to find the perfect routine for each of our unique wants and needs and this can often lead to us making any mistakes along the way! I thought it might be helpful for me to walk you through some of the mistakes I have made personally in the past as I’m sure many of you can relate. It might also help the others of you who have not done these things to avoid them in the future!
One of the biggest mistakes that I have made in my past when it comes to skincare and health is not wearing my sunscreen! Neglecting sunscreen is one of the most significant skincare mistakes that I know is very common when it comes to the majority of us. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays and helps to prevent premature aging, sunspots and skin cancer. It is so important that we all make the effort to apply sunscreen everyday, especially when going outdoors! The next mistake that I have made in my past is over washing or using harsh products. Cleansing your face is essential, as we all know, but overwashing or using harsh cleansers can strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness, irritation or even the cause of acne. It is important to find a good balance of skin cleansing that works for your personal skin type but to also make sure that you are not overdoing it! The next mistake, which I also know is a common one, is using too many products. I know that I can get carried away with excitement when I discover a new skincare brand or line and want to test a million different new routines! But, using an excessive number of skincare products or introducing new ones too quickly can overwhelm your skin and cause adverse reactions. Stick to a simple and consistent routine to avoid potential irritations. Lastly, another mistake I would often make in my past is neglecting the neck and hands! Skincare routines should not only focus on the face but should also include other important areas of your skin, such as your neck, chest and hands! These areas are often overlooked and yet are some of the first places that begin to show signs of aging. So, it is important to include them into your daily routine!
